At Yooralla, occupational and speech therapists provide advice for people who require support to communicate. This low-cost service, located at the Independent Living Centre External site link, assists you to get the most out of computers and technology.  

 

Telstra’s Disability Equipment Program External site linkprovides specialised products and services to people who have difficulty accessing standard telephone services.

Anti-Shake Mouse
New anti-shake mouse software has been developed to reduce the impact of tremor on mouse control. This software is called the ‘Mouse Cage Program’. Not-for-profit Computer & Internet Providers

Seniors Internet Kiosks External site link
This government initiative, established in 2008, aims to provide internet kiosks for seniors, people with disabilities and carers.

refurbishes computers received from business and government departments, passing them on cheaply to low-income or disadvantaged customers. To be eligible, you must hold a concession card, such as a health care or pension card, or provide other documentation demonstrating low income.

Equipment Recycling Network Inc. External site link (ERNI) - 03 9879 5211 recycles donated computers, passing them on at nominal cost to eligible applicants on disability pensions and some health care card holders. ERNI also maintains an online community trading post for disability and health care aids and equipment.

Technical Assistance to the Disabled (Australia) provides subsidised internet & telephone services to people on a disability, senior or veteran’s pension.
