Featured Book - our book of the moment

The Essence of Health (2008)

The Seven Pillars of Wellbeing

By Dr Craig Hassed

"I think this is a fantastic book that promotes general wellbeing and touches on aspects that could help not just someone with Parkinson's, but anyone looking for a healthier life. A worthwhile read!"

- Parkinson's Victoria employee

On the back of the book:

Find health, happiness and calm with essence - a simple and powerful program for lifelong wellness.

Developed at Monash University's medical school, The Essence of Health brings together the very best of evidence-based, holistic medicine in a program that we can put into practice in our daily lives. From achieving wellness to preventing and managing serious, chronic illness, this program is a powerful and practical guide.

Each of the seven crucial pillars of wellbeing - Education, Stress Management, Spirituality, Exercise, Nutrition, Connectedness and Environment - integrates traditional wisdom with modern science. Together with a structured program for motivation and strategies for lifestyle change, the way to health, happiness and calm is in our hands.
