A Walk in the Park registrations open
May. 08, 2019
Step out in support of Parkinson’s on 18 August for A Walk in the Park, an uplifting event focussed on improving the lives of more than 27,000 Victorians living with Parkinson’s.
Last year, almost 3000 people walked, wheeled and strolled in the flagship 10th anniversary Melbourne walk, supported by another 1700 people in nine walks around regional Victoria.
Now into its second decade, we are happy to announce the 2019 walk will be back along the Yarra River on Sunday 18 August 2019. It is also important to note the event date is a week earlier than originally planned. This was necessitated to accommodate a re-scheduled major Melbourne event.
So register and start fundraising today.
All the details can be found on our A Walk in the Park website.
Every dollar raised through A Walk in the Park helps support people living with Parkinson’s to lead full and active lives. With your support we are able to provide invaluable information, education and support services to people with Parkinson’s, their families, friends and health professionals.
Date: Sunday 18 August 2019
Location: Federation Square, Melbourne
Start time: The walk sets off at 11am. Entertainment and fun family activities begin at 9.30am.
Course: Starting at Federation Square, the 2km and 4km courses follow a leisurely route along the beautiful Yarra River, before returning to Federation Square. The course is mobility friendly and suitable for wheelchairs and prams.
