Lacey’s Open Garden - where “East meets West”

Jun. 08, 2016

Join the Lacey's for their Open Garden as part of the Castlemaine District Festival of Gardens

Join Barry and Jennifer Lacey for their Open Garden and be enthralled by their extensive range of Bonsai, iris, succulents and roses scattered throughout the garden. Mosaics, object d'art and water features make this a fun and happy garden to meander through.  Two shade houses, a hot house and a small vegie patch complete this whimsical garden.

"Our Garden is where we go to restore our sanity, it is our work of love and peace," says Barry.  "When life gets too much it is a place we go to recenter ourselves, as it's a living meditation."  Barry and Jennifer have been together for 50 years, married for 46 so this garden is truly a labour of love.  The garden is also a reflection of Barry's interest in Tai Chi, a hobby he took up 25 years ago.  He does many demonstrations in the area, and personally finds it helps relieve his Parkinson's symptoms.

The Newstead Men's Shed Sausage Sizzle will be available on the weekends and Cup Day.  Tea and coffee will be available.  Plants and cards are available for sale.

Tai Chi will be held at 10am each morning.
