Try ParkinSong to help find your voice
Nov. 09, 2017
Living with, or caring for someone with Parkinson’s can result in speech difficulties and in turn, less conversation, social contact and activity.
People with Parkinson’s may have weak voices and their speech can become difficult to understand. Motivation to chat and connect with others may also be reduced.

Build confidence using your voice
ParkinSong is a fun-filled singing group held in an uplifting, supportive and social environment. The program offers vocal exercise, and an opportunity to express yourself through music and rhythm. It is designed to complement Speech Pathology therapy intervention.
Singing can be physically and emotionally invigorating, especially when experienced with others who share the same motivation and enthusiasm. Bring along your carer so that you can enjoy the group activity together. Held weekly, fortnightly or monthly, depending on the specific group.

ParkinSong group sessions involve:
- Vocal warm-up and exercises
- Group singing
- Morning or afternoon tea
- Opportunities for conversation and social engagement
- Peer support
