ParKanDo Peer Support Group

Sat 15th Feb 2020, 10:00am to 1:00pm (3 hours)
A new Melbourne western suburbs Peer Support Group will officially launch in February, providing a local support network for people living with Parkinson’s.
In addition to providing a place to share information and experiences, ParkKanDo aims to offer a variety of activities identified and driven by members.
Group coordinator Pam West, said the idea for the new group started after four people, three of them living with Parkinson’s and the fourth, a carer, met for a coffee and a chat last year.
“Even though each of our journeys were quite different, we shared a great deal of enthusiasm and a common goal – to positively contribute to peer support in the west. The idea of forming ParKanDo was born.”
ParKanDo will launch on Saturday 15 February at 10am at Walker Close Community Centre, 180 Millers Rd, Altona North.
Tea, coffee and refreshments will be available and a gold coin donation is requested. Please RSVP via the Book Now tab below.
Following the launch, ParKanDo will meet monthly on the fourth Tuesday of the month, during school terms.
The ParKanDo launch is proudly sponsored by The Australian Multicultural Community Services' Moving for Life – the Way I Like It program, funded through Sport Australia's Move It Aus – Better Ageing grants program.
