13/12-16 Garden Boulevard, Dingley Village (map)
Thu 11th Jul 2019, 10:00am to 12:00pm (2 hours)
Join us in Dingley Village for this ‘plain English’ community seminar, designed to help people better understand and live well with Parkinson’s, with guest speakers sharing information on a range of topics.
A new Moorabbin Parkinson’s Peer Support Group will also officially launch at the seminar, providing a local support network for people living in the City of Kingston and surrounding areas.
Group coordinator Helen Brunt said she was excited by the opportunity the group will provide for mutual learning, support and encouragement.
“We look forward to developing a program that is relevant, interesting and engaging,” she added.
Other guest speakers at the community seminar include:
- Victor McConvey, Clinical Nurse Consultant, Parkinson’s Victoria, will provide an insight into Parkinson’s
- Kate Madden, Community Coordinator, Parkinson’s Victoria, will discuss the importance of peer support and social connection
- Russell Joyce, a personal perspective of living with Parkinson’s.
