Recently Diagnosed Seminar – July

Online session via Zoom (map)

Thu 29th Jul 2021, 4:00pm to 5:30pm (1 day, 1 hour, 30 minutes)

A diagnosis of Parkinson’s is life-changing and it’s normal to feel overwhelmed by what this means. For many people, it’s is only after leaving doctor’s surgery that questions come bubbling to the surface.

That’s why Fight Parkinson’s’s Recently Diagnosed Seminars are so important – and valued by the many people who have attended them.

RDS sessions provide a welcoming environment in which individuals and their families can understand diagnosis and connect with others facing a similar situation.

You will come away with the knowledge and tools to build a foundation for improved self-management and care. This includes symptom management strategies and information on the many support services that are available.

In line with Government-regulated COVID-19 restrictions, Fight Parkinson’s will commence its 2021 RDS program online so you can safely access information from the comfort of your own home.

The sessions are led by a Fight Parkinson’s specialist nurse and includes time for questions. It also includes a presentation by an individual living with Parkinson’s, facing similar challenges to your own.

Each RDS will consist of two 1.5 hour sessions, held across two consecutive days. It is recommended that you attend both sessions to gain the most out of the information being presented.

These free sessions are designed for people who have been diagnosed within the past five years. Family members are also welcome to attend. Webinar access links will be provided on registration.

This session will run on Thursday 29 and Friday 30 July from 4pm to 5.30pm.

If you have any questions about the program or registration, please call us on 8809 0400.
