Spring Charity Garden Auction for Parkinson’s
Thu 12th Sep 2019, 7:00pm to 12:00am (5 hours)
The merged Rotary Club of Oakleigh, Clayton & Huntingdale (ROCH) will hold their annual Charity Garden Auction in support of Parkinson’s Victoria & Atypical Parkinson’s in September.
The auction was first held in 2015 after a proposal from Huntingdale Rotary Club member Frank Mitchell, major event sponsor and owner of Pinewood Quality Nursery in Blackburn. Over that time, the auctions have raised more than $45,000.
The event has grown in popularity, first outgrowing its initial venue at Huntingdale Golf Club, then the Oakleigh RSL, necessitating a move to the larger Village Green Hotel this year.
The driving force behind the charity auction is Anne Mooney, who has convened the first PSP Support Group in Victoria and Australia for the last 14 years. Her husband Daryl passed away in 2009 after living with PSP for four years.
Joining her this year in organising the auction is Bree Wolany, whose father passed away from PSP last year.
Guests will enjoy a two-course meal and a live and silent auction. Items up for bidding include a Toyota Yaris, stays at an AirBnB property, a round of golf for four at Huntingdale Golf Club, a week in a time share resort and many others, not least of all the amazing plants and garden items donated by Pinewood Quality Nursery.
